March 2021 saw Coach McKinstry pass his 20-year milestone in football coaching. Over that time he has improved the win-performance of a number of teams and delivered success (15 March 2021).
Coach McKinstry is a UEFA Pro Coach and Professional football manager. With experience of coaching in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa, he has a track record of consistently raising performance at elite level - by developing teams, players and staff.
Coach McKinstry has extensive experience in elite player development, at both full international level and in elite academies.
Coach McKinstry is a professional football manager with experience at full international level (Uganda, Rwanda & Sierra Leone).
Within just 16 months Coach McKinstry had led Sierra Leone to their highest ever FIFA World and African rankings (August 2014).
Coach McKinstry has expressed his disappointment and frustration at the decision to replace him as Head Coach of the Sierra Leone 'Leone Stars' (17 September 2014).
